A bit of a blog cataloging stuff I do... some of it informative, some of it crude, some of it stupid, but should be good for a laugh.

MuteMath drummer being moved by the crowd to a drum setup in the middle of the audience during the show at the Gothic Theater in Denver.

MuteMath is the second concert in a row that blew me away.   Where Puscifer is incredibly cerebral, and detailed,  Mute Math is a sensory overload.  Full of energy and drive.   The stage show is very well produced, the band seemed like they had a absolute blast.  The lead of the band spent the concert jumping off stuff, running around, and in general doing some crazy shit.

He at one point slipped on a dive from the keyboard and almost cut his head open, but took it in stride.

The band took turns playing in the audience, or on items on stage, etc…    Excellent concert and I highly recommend it!   I have some video I shot of the drummer being moved by the crowd out to the center of the main floor and starting to rock from there.

Video (sped up 2x) showing the fireworks show over the 16th St mall over new years.  Estimated 150,000 people on the mall for this.  Fireworks went off at midnight and played for a few minutes while DJ’s were spinning below.  Sounded like a blast.

I set the webcam to record video over that time as we were in WI while this was going on.  Gotta see the party down on the mall first hand next year.

Nice stuff to wake up and look at.  Expecting ~ 8” down town today.  There is so little weather here, any weather is a welcome change to mix up the blue sky and sun we get daily.I dig winter, and not even for Ski’n… just cause.   I know the Ski addicts in this area wake up and look at the white stuff as if it was a delivery from their neighborhood coke dealer.  For me its much more simple - its just nice to look at, and I dig driving in it.
Although this coming weekend we may take to the hills to try out this Ski’n deal, pending Kate recovers from her cold by then.

The Puscifer concert tonight at the Paramount Denver was outstanding!

So many renditions of songs I knew were off the chart.  The most impressive was Rev 22:20 done slow, controlled, and very powerful.    Everything played off the latest album was off the chart.  Notable tracks were Toma, The Rapture, Telling Ghosts, Man Overboard, Vagina Mine,  and closed out with a memorable rendition of Tumbleweed.

Carina Round needs to be given mad props as she absolutely owned so much of the show.   You would be hard to not notice that she not only sings, but also moves so similar to Maynard when getting in to the music, its like they were separated at birth.

If Puscifer is coming to your town.   Be there, a show not to be missed.

Waking up to views like this just wont ever get old.

Australian Pink Floyd tonight at the Paramount in Denver.   The concert was very very good.   Second only to seeing Pink Floyd in concert at Camp Randal in 1994.   The set list was also unexpectedly great, they played songs I didn’t think I’d hear live, like:  Careful with the Axe Eugene and Sheep.  They also played Sorrow, One of these Days, and all the other standard issue Floyd songs.   These guys were masters of the songs they played an tweaked them ever so slightly from time to time with their own twist.

These guys put on one heck of a stage/light show for such a small venue, and the audio was amazing (a credit to The Paramount as much as the band).  It was loud, but really very balanced.   You can tell they don’t really have the blessing of the real Floyd as all their stage video, props, etc… are all things they made up, they obviously don’t have access to the real tour videos.

They had 3D video for the last half of the concert which at times was really neat to watch.  They handed out stylish 3D shades when we walked in…  heard some people head of us comment that everything looks so much better with them on (before the concert started)… He was seeing all 3 dimensions for the first time I figure!

They emulated very close the lighting effects I saw in 1994 for many of the same songs, which was fun.

Overall it was a great concert and worth easily what we paid.  The only unfortunate part was a group of Douche bag jersey shore wannabe drug dealer assholes who sat in front of us (after getting there 20 minutes late).  They seemed to mistake this for a Lil John concert or something.   Screaming at each other, and flashing any number of hand gestures that would be more at home in an ICP video than here.   They sort of ruined Kate’s experience there… I just found them funny and ignored them the best I could…  Thanks ass hats.  Wish Kate remembered she had pepper spray… a small squirt to the face on each of them would have done the trick ;)

Took a few quick pics with our little Canon SD4000 IS and stitched them together to show the cool cloud shelf moving off the mountains letting the sun come in.  The clouds above us that just gave a little rain are what dropped snow in the mountains all day.

Some cool views this morning as I was up at 6:30 for a phone conference.  I got to see the clouds rolling in over the front range.   Very cool to see portions of the city in the distance just dissapearing with the sunrise.
